I don’t know how the rest of the community has weathered the first few months of 2008, but the Jessel Gallery has two big thank yous to gratefully share with your readers... My second thank you goes to Pat Summers and the Mustard Festival. I was given the honor of doing the poster this year and was thrilled to find out that this image has been the top-selling poster in the 15-year history of the event. I also attended all the events and remained in complete awe at how smoothly Pat and her staff ran this huge festival. The global advertising this event does brings people from all over the world. Our business soared, turning our finances around so that we had our biggest month in years this March! The final event held at the Silverado Country Club was the sponsors’ dinner (which was lovely and delicious). I sat as sponsor after sponsor got up and sang praises to this event and how it affected their business (including the Wine Train, Mumm Napa, Ceja Vineyards and American Airlines, to name only a few). I cannot say enough good things about being a sponsor for this event. If I were a restaurant in this valley looking to expand my business, or a winery that slowed down and let people go through our winter season, I would jump on the Mustard Festival bandwagon for 2009.

Reluctant though I am to offer Summers-McCann to the competition, I must
attest to the quality of strategic planning and professionalism that they can
bring to any organization.

We have enjoyed working with Summers-McCann since establishing our
business in 1985. Throughout the years when we need something done, from
creating our original marketing materials, to helping us become nationally
known, Summers-McCann has been available, ready, and willing to take on the
project.

I have enjoyed working with Summers-McCann for the past twenty-two years,
and look forward each year to our annual projects. When working together, we can
always count on everything being well organized, classy, and fun!

One only needs to look back at the sales numbers of January and February
prior to the Napa Valley Mustard Festival to realize the phenomenal success, and
the millions of dollars realized by this program. Summers-McCann works
tirelessly year round to make the three-month series of events a showcase of the
incredible beauty and bounty the Napa Valley has to offer. The number of
visitors to the Napa Valley has been steadily increasing year after year, and so
has the revenue these guests spend as they stay for multiple days. Thank you
Summers-McCann.

We know the Napa Valley Mustard Festival has had a direct impact on
businesses growing and thriving in Napa during what has traditionally been a
slow time. We have seen our valued customers, who are major corporations
around the country... attempt to target group programs to coincide with the
Napa Valley Mustard Festival.
Keep up the good work!

What did wine country businesses do before the promotion of the Mustard
Festival? Summers-McCann has really changed the way we do business in the
"off-season". Hey, what "off-season?" If I know you, next year will be even
better. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.
